RDP Wrapper

What is RDP Wrapper

Remote Desktop is a convenient tool on Windows. However, if you want to remote link to an other Computer with Home Edition, it is difficult to do so because Microsoft has disabled this feature in this edition (but not delete).

RDP Wrapper works as a layer between Service Control Manager and Terminal Services, so the original termsrv.dll file remains untouched. Also this method is very strong against Windows Update.

Rdpwarp is a out-of-the-box software to enable Remote Desktop Host on Home Edition. Here is a more convenient version which add the auto update feature asmtron/rdpwrap: RDP Wrapper Library (github.com).

What You Need To

  1. Download RDP Wrapper, and run install.bat.
  2. Update you C:\Program Files\RDP Wrapper\rdpwrap.ini, learn more. The latest rdpwrap.ini can be found on GitHub, and here is one. Or just run autoupdate.bat.
  3. Run RDPConf.exe to check whether all are passed.
  4. All done.
